Step-by-Step Jury Process
The Guild’s Jury Process is designed to help artists present their work professionally while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. This guide explains how to submit artwork, what to expect during the review, deadlines, and membership requirements.
Important: Artists must have a Contributing Artist or Independent Artist membership before displaying or selling approved artwork.
Step 1 – Prepare Your Artwork

Requirement: Submit five (5) pieces of original, finished artwork.

Ready to Display: Artwork must be fully finished and professionally presented.
Step 2 – Submit In-Person

When: During the week prior to the 4th Friday of each month.

Where: 160 N. Main St., Rutherfordton, NC 28139

Important: Please call or email the Guild to confirm open hours before bringing your artwork.

Tip: Ensure all pieces are clearly labeled for easy review by the jury.
Step 3 – Jury Review

What Happens: The Guild jury evaluates all submitted artwork.

Criteria: Originality, quality, presentation, and alignment with Guild standards.

Goal: Fair and supportive review to help artists succeed.
Step 4 – Notification

When: Artists receive email notification the following Wednesday.

Outcome:

Approved: Artwork may be displayed or sold once the artist has a Contributing Artist or Independent Artist membership.

Not Approved: Artists are encouraged to refine and resubmit at a future session.
