Amanda Maishman

Clay is my way of exploring connection—between people, nature, and the quiet rituals of everyday life. I create functional pottery that is both playful and practical, often accented with carving, sgraffito, or sculptural details that celebrate animals, plants, and magical motifs. Working with mid-fire clay on the wheel brings me joy, calm, and grounding, while hand-building allows for experimentation and expansion of form. My work is rooted in beauty and storytelling, inviting the user to pause, reflect, and find delight in the ordinary moments that shape a day. Teaching is also central to my practice; sharing clay with youth and adults fosters creativity, resilience, and community.
